Who we are

We are operator-
investors actively backing European
Food & AgTech entrepreneurs.

We invest at early stages, from farm to fork.

Backing vision-aligned teams

We place great emphasis in identifying teams with the potential to create new product categories. We link especially well with those that have a clear vision and are open to fine tune the execution.

Building novel food systems

We back founders building novel systems for a more sustainable trading. We find that successful building is normally underpinned by a superior ability to navigate existing agrifood supply chains.

We walk the same path

We leverage our extensive professional experience in food, agriculture, retail and tech to support founders with challenges to growing their business.

What we do

We believe there are significant structural tailwinds that are accelerating disruption in Food and Ag.

We like to be one of the first investors in a company, hence we typically invest at pre-seed and seed stage. Companies can be pre-revenue but must have a working MVP or similar.

Our Process

Fundraising can be a draining endeavour for founders. We have designed our investment process to optimise engagement and decision making. We can move fast.
1. Stage

Sourcing & Screening

We spend most of our time with entrepreneurs that are looking to raise their next round. Our screening team will typically take a couple of meetings to meet the founders and learn about the context for the opportunity. Companies that best align with our mandate are invited to present in Newland's Pitch Day.

2. Stage

Pitch Day

Our Pitch Day typically happens once every quarter. The event offers selected companies the opportunity to present to the wider Newland Syndicate and to be considered for investment.

3. Stage

Investment Decision

Post Pitch Day, our screening team will collect indications of interest from syndicate members. When the combined interest meets our minimum threshold, we will move forward with our investment. This process takes two to three weeks to complete.

4. Stage

Post-Investment

Newland will appoint a lead to represent the syndicate in dealings with the company. The lead is expected to regularly engage with the entrepreneur and offer Newland platform services to support with business expansion.
